Hero’s

The moment you have a Hero's Mansion level one you can make a normal unit a hero. This means that you need a Stable or Barracks before you can create a hero. You can only have 1 “Active” hero per account. (see below)

The hero can be sent as a reinforcement to other villages like every other unit. However if the village is yours and you have already built a Hero's Mansion there prior to sending the hero, you can use the hero from this village as if it had been created there.

The hero has two main uses –

1 (S)he gives a bonus to your troops during attacks defence

2 (S)he can capture oasis’s

1 Attack or defence bonus.

2 Oasis’s

After upgrading a Hero's Mansion to level 10, you can use your hero to occupy oasis’s in your surroundings. At building level 10 one oasis can be occupied, at level 15 two and with a Hero's Mansion level 20 three. The oasis‘s you want to occupy have to be within the 7x7 square around your village.

The examples below marks “your” village in the center and the oasis’s you are theoretically able to conquer. Hint: You can only have 3 oases per village, but by moving the hero between villages and having mansions at the correct levels in each village you can own unlimited oasis’s (Number of villages X 3 oasis per village).

If you hero dies in a battle you have a two options, you can either revive the existing hero or build a new one.

If you have a high level hero then it costs a lot more, and takes a lot longer to revive, so if you need a hero quickly then it may be best to build a new one if you need a hero quickly (for example to capture an oasis) but bear in mind this new hero will not have any of the points of the old one.

Killing your hero

Early in the game you may build a low powered hero (Legionnaire, Phalanx or Maceman) and later decide to build one from a more powerful troop type. The easiest way to kill off your hero is to send him alone to a nearby oasis alone, so that the animals there kill him; you then build the second one from the more powerful troop type.

Up to 2 “Dead” hero’s can be “stored” ie when you hero dies and you build a new one, the first is still available, should the second one die – you will be given the option as to which one to revive. I have seen some people build a hero from first Phalanx, then swordsman, then a druidrider, and decide later that they want a headuan as their hero. When you kill your current hero, as you already have 3 “Dead” hero’s you have to kill one off first – the option will be there – just choose to kill off the one you don’t want any longer.

There is a 3rd use for hero’s which is to capture an artefact – but if you are reading this guide, then you are not likely to need to know about this!
